I was born and raised in Ames and have raised my own family in this community. I was brought up by a father in the home construction business and had the opportunity to spend many summers working on construction jobs.

I have been an independent general contractor since April of 1974 . Since 1974, Jon Hunziker Construction has completed over 185 homes, 20 duplexes, 280 apartments, and over 100 residential and commercial remodeling projects.

I am an active member of the National Home Builders Association.  I served as president of the Ames board for two terms and the president of the Iowa board for one term. I have been awarded the Master Builder designation through the National Home Builders Association, which is earned through experience, financial responsibility and continuing education.
